Make your quarantine productive along with these authors on social media

Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, quarantine has become a way of life. Since all of us are advised to stay indoors in order to “flatten the curve”, people have become puzzled on how to keep themselves productive and occupied during these days. Whilst few have resorted to making hilarious tik-toks, baking, painting, and binge watching, we thought to take you all on an arm-chair travel and connect you with your literary heroes!

  1. Paulo Coelho:

Follow “The Alchemist” author @paulocoelho on Instagram to immerse in a blend of sarcastic quotes, tweets and vintage posts of art and creativity. His recent post is a mind-blowing video of what looks like a tower in light play with the caption: “Turkish creativity”. Recently, the author posted some of his titles for free for people to read while staying at home, proving that he’s a man of big heart! Coelho is known to bring budding writers out of their writing block.

  1. Rupi Kaur:

Titled “Queen of Instagram poets”, Rupi Kaur is well known to every budding poet on the gram. She is considered to be the first to come up with poetry composed on simple language, short lines and lowercase letters which unusually give it an aesthetic feel. The line art doodles that accompany along with the poems are equally interesting too. Kaur comes up with online poetry workshops and interactions with her followers via Insta Live. Follow her on Instagram at @rupikaur_

  1. Elizabeth Gilbert:

@elizabeth_gilbert_writer is an optimistic account to follow on Instagram as much as the author herself! The “Eat, Pray, Love” writer shares pieces from her daily musings on the gram. Right from reassuring stories of amazing people to shadow play, the writer is active on social media and recently her book “City Of Girls” was out!

  1. Rainbow Rowell:

Rainbow Rowell, the one every Y. A genre reader is aware of, made a mark for herself in the genre with books “Eleanor & Park”, “Fangirl”, and “Carry On”. Her Instagram feed @rainbowrowell is filled with plenty of book recommendations, cute pencil doodles, fan gifts and much more.
